This trip is truly a paradise found in its purest form! The enchanting journey takes us into the dense jungles of the Soberania National Park that the Emberá Indians call home.
Our adventure beginswith a ride up the river in hand-crafted dugout canoes. Upon arrival to the village you will be taken back in time as you areimmersed in the ancient Emberá cultural dances and music.
The Indianswill describe their rich history and culture and will invite visitorsto explore the area's abundant variety of birds (over 150 species havebeen identified in community and surrounding area) and wildlife duringa trek that takes you though the untouched jungle. During the exploration, your Indian guide will identify medicinal plants and traditional remedies for everyday aliments that are on the brink of being lost forever.
Upon your return to the community, you will be served a traditional Emberá lunch of freshly caught fish and plantains. For a small additional fee, you will enjoy an extended boat tour of the area and visit a picturesque waterfall that is set deep in the jungle. A peaceful ride in a dug out canoe, a trek through the rainforest, and the opportunity to learn from a magical culture, all in half a day!
